Who it suits — and who should skip it
This is for the surface whitehead that appeared the night before something you care about. The patch covers it, absorbs fluid, and — the part that actually matters — physically stops you picking at it.
Skip it for deep, painful cystic spots. Per the product’s own guidance these work best on surface-level whiteheads; on a blind spot under the skin there is nothing for the hydrocolloid to draw out. Skip it too as an acne treatment: this manages individual spots, it does not prevent them.
Getting a patch to stay on and work
