Liquid I.V. Hydration Multiplier
Electrolyte drink-mix sticks that dissolve into 500 ml of water. Aimed at the dehydration that comes with long-haul flights, hot hikes and sauna sessions, where plain water replaces the fluid but not the salts you lost. One stick per bottle, sixteen to a box.
- Single-serve sticks weigh almost nothing and pass hand-luggage rules — no liquid limit, no bottle to carry through security
- Contains sodium, potassium and magnesium alongside vitamin C and B vitamins; the brand positions it as absorbing faster than water alone
- With more than 100,000 ratings averaging above 4.5 stars it is one of the most heavily reviewed hydration products on Amazon, which makes the feedback unusually reliable

Who it suits — and who should skip it
This is for the specific situation where you have lost fluid and salts: a long flight, a hot hike, a sauna round, a hard training session, or a day where you simply did not drink. Plain water replaces the fluid and not the salts, which is why people can drink all afternoon and still feel flat.
Skip it as an everyday drink. The standard version carries roughly 11 g of added sugar and around 500 mg of sodium per stick — that is the point of it during dehydration and the problem with it as a habit. Anyone watching sodium for medical reasons should ask a doctor first.
Using it well
- One stick per bottle of water, not per sip. Concentrating it does not speed anything up and usually upsets the stomach.
- Keep a couple in hand luggage rather than checked. Cabin air is the classic case and airport water is free.
- If you want the salts without the sugar, the sugar-free version exists — check which one you are actually adding to the basket.
Why sodium is the active ingredient
Electrolyte drinks work because sodium helps the body hold on to the water you drink instead of passing it straight through. That is also why they taste saltier than a soft drink. If a hydration product tastes purely sweet, it is closer to a soft drink than to a rehydration solution. Judge these products on the sodium figure on the label, not on the flavour range.
